vs Rose

The Meat Missiles rolled into enemy territory and left no doubt, dropping 17 runs on the Rose in a wire-to-wire beatdown that was never really close despite a bumpy first inning. Phoenix came out swinging in the top of the first, with Newg Jr. doubling to set the table before Purdy reached on an error to plate a run and Coley D kept the line moving. The Rose answered with some pop of their own in the bottom half, stringing together two triples, a double, and a sac to pull within a run, but that would be about as close as things got.

The Missiles blew the game open in the top of the third with one of the messier, more beautiful innings you will ever see. Newg Jr. tripled, Purdy drove him in on a popout, Newgie followed with a triple of his own, Viper singled him home, and then Diesel launched a two-run shot to essentially end the competitive portion of the evening. The Rose scratched back with a homer of their own in the bottom of the third to make it look respectable on the scoreboard, but the Missiles tacked on more in the fourth when Newg Jr. singled home two and Vaca crossed the plate to push the lead to seven. Phoenix walked away 17-10, improved their road record, and gave the Rose something to think about all week.
